The difference between this year -- where I've had to write, like, two disciplinary referrals all year -- and in years past, is a certain lack of surprise from having seen a wiiiide percentage of the worst behavior students have to offer.

That experience has helped me shed a lot of insecurity and afforded me a certain confidence that permeates everything. Students want a confident leader and I feel like this is the first year where I've seen enough to give that to them.

I'd sum up this year's disciplinary experience with post, which references this clip from The Wire. Since you've got, like, acres of time and whatnot.

Seems like you're reaching that point prematurely. Cut in line again and watch what happens to you. I've got the referral written up and everything.

This is a great post and a sharp blog. I'm subscribing. Try to keep it more than monthly for us, huh?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-133291856968687534.post-7807717768690964322007-03-30T06:05:00.000-07:002007-03-30T06:05:00.000-07:00Sounds like a great read, I'll have to pick up a c...Sounds like a great read, I'll have to pick up a copy. I've often thought that the biggest contributing factor to student misbehavior is sheer boredom. That can be corrected with a little imagination and an educator's willingness to try something new. We can always do better.Mr. Lucchesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11489214765844797652noreply@blogger.com
